Six Months Old!

Image
Addison turned 6 months old on Wednesday, January 26. Let me just start by saying the one thing that every mom has probably said at some point....I swear I have the sweetest baby in the world! She is not perfect, but dog-on if she aint the sweetest thing I ever did see! She is changing from "Little Baby" to "Little Girl" right before our eyes. Just look at how she has grown over the past 6 months... We are so blessed! Not many of her "stats" have changed. She still sleeps through the night (Yay!). She still has 6 ounces in each bottle (breastmilk mixed with soy formula), usually 4-5 bottles per day. She wears a size 3 diaper and is wearing size 6 month clothes. Her feet still haven't grown anymore. She no longer will take her paci. She has never been much into her paci, although Mommy and Daddy have been very glad to have it on many occasions in the past. She pretty much would take it if she was fussy. It would sooth her immediately, but as soon as

Happy Birthday Grandaddy Milton!

Image
Friday was Adam's dad's birthday.  Sat night we celebrated at his house.  Adam cooked a couple crock pots of duck stew, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and cucumbers in vinegar.  It was yummy!  We are sorry that we missed Sarah and Amanda.  They were enjoying 6 inches of snow in Marshalburg...crazy!  We were very happy, though to see Amy, Chris, and Hayden.  Again, I couldn't get my hands on that little fellow.  He was too busy eating and sleeping :)  He looks too cozy with his mommy and daddy to disturb him.  So precious!  Chris fed him his first bottle tonight.  I think they did great!  Addison wasn't sure what to think.  She is not used to seeing people smaller than her... She had fun hanging out with her Grandaddy again.  He kept her for a few hours last Wednesday night so mommy could go play tennis!  (Which was so much fun, by the way!!) They must have done some bonding then :)  She is just so content with him.  I don't really know how to explain it.  It's

Addison's First Time Wearing a Hairbow!

Image
Adam and I have said many times before, "I just don't think she looks like a hairbow kind of baby".  However,  I have been anxious to put a bow in her hair to see.  Finally, she has enough hair to get a couple of her bows in.  And I think we were wrong....she looks so cute with this little hairbow in... She has this new thing that she does... she gives her daddy the CUTEST face....almost like she just knows she's melting his heart.  She very rarely gives me this look, but she has been wearing it out with her daddy lately.  She puts her chin down and looks up at him like a puppy dog.  It is hilarious!... I think she got a little bored with me taking pictures... But I just can't help myself.... Happy Saturday from my family to yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fun Weekend

Image
The Beaman family had a fun weekend.  Friday I went to Gymboree to spend some gift cards and Gymbucks.  That was way too much fun!  Believe it or not, Addison actually needed a few things.  She is outgrowing a lot of her 3-6 month clothes.  She has tons of 12 month clothes, but didn't have much in the 6-12 month range.  We found her lots of cute things :)  Saturday we went to Michelle's house for dinner and fun.  This picture is funny because it doesn't look like Addison... Kessler cooked some yummy ribs and boiled potatoes. Delicious!  Sunday we started out with lots of play time.. Addison was soooooooooooo sweet all day Sunday!  Me and her daddy just couldn't get enough of her.    She played so hard.  She really seemed so much older for some reason.    She kept looking out the window on the way to church.  That was the first time I've noticed her doing that.  She kept trying to sit up so she could get a better look out the window.  Then we went out to eat and sh

Feeling Better!

Image
Thank God our family is getting back to normal!  Me, Adam, and Addison are all feeling so much better!  Here are a few pics from last night.  I think she looks so growny in these pictures... Please ignore her mix-matched socks.  Ha!  This one is from tonight... We normally put her in her crib before she falls asleep.  She honestly likes falling asleep in her crib better than in anyone's arms.....which saves us a lot of trouble (even though it is really sweet on the rare occasion that she does fall asleep in our arms)!  However, we wore her out tonight.  From the minute we got home, we played and played and played!  I think we were just so happy to be feeling well, that we just wanted to jump up and down...and that's about what we did...until Addison gave out.  I layed her in her crib and she didn't move.  I tell you...babies are so much fun!  Sweet dreams, Addie Leigh!  Can't wait to play again tomorrow :)

Dr Visit.....Again!

Image
I feel like all I blog about these days is Dr visits.  I guess it's just that time of year.  Well, Addison was finally getting better....but yesterday her cough got worse and more frequent, so I went ahead and took her to the Dr...just to be safe.  They tested her for the flu, which she did not have....Praise God!  They said that her ears didn't look really bad, but they didn't look quite normal, so they went ahead and gave us antibiotics for that.  I also went to the Dr today and got some antibiotics for myself.  Our house has just been pitiful lately.  All three of us have been coughing and blowing our noses non-stop.  Adam was researching last night things to do to help relieve a baby's cough.  Several web sites advised wrapping your baby up really warm and taking them outside to breathe in cold night air.  So, that's what he did.... I really think it helped.  That cold, moist air must have felt good to her dry throat because she just sat there as content as c

4 month immunizations

Addison was finally well enough to get her 4 month shots Friday (She is 5 and a half months old) !  She did really well.  She cried as hard as she could cry after the second shot, but that only lasted about 15 seconds.  She weighed 16 lbs, 8 oz.  I was so happy when the Dr said that he could no longer hear anything in her chest.  She is still congested in her nose, but we will take what we can get.  Now I have been sick all day running a fever.  I pray that little Addison does not get whatever bug I have.  We are so ready for her to be well!!  Although, watching her, you would never know she was sick in the least.  I have the cutest videos from today that I would LOVE to share, but for the life of me I CANNOT get the video upload to work and it is driving me CRAZY!!  So if any of you reading this have any tips, PLEASE SHARE!!!  I do have pictures to share, though...surprise surprise. Ha! Chillin':  Grandma Sue-Sue came over today to help us out.  Adam had to pick beans before th

"For this child we have prayed" Christopher "Hayden" Perry entered the world on January 7th, 2011 at 11:19 am weighing 7lbs, 6oz and 19.5 inches long.  Mommy, Daddy, and baby are all doing great!  Praise God for the miracle of life!

Latest Dr Visit

Image
Well, time for me to share the latest...We got the results back from Addison's allergy test.  She has a severe allergy to milk and egg whites.  Poor baby can't have ice cream (among many other things).  Thank God she doesn't know what she's missing because if you told me I could never have ice cream again, I would cry, without a doubt!  Although I am aware this will some day be a challenge, I have no worries.  I have placed it in God's hands.  And as Adam put it, she may be better off....she can't have cake, cookies, chocolate, cheese, ice cream, butter.....all things that aren't good for anyone anyway, right?  Nonetheless, I hope that you will say a little prayer for my baby girl.  We are hoping that now that we know this, her skin will get better.  She is not allergic to breast milk.  However, the Dr said that if I had a lot of cow's milk and then gave her my milk, that she could be affected by it somewhat, possibly the reason for her sensitive skin.

Baby Perry has a name!

Image
I won't keep you in suspense...Amy and Chris have decided to name their baby boy either Hayden Christopher Perry or Christopher Hayden Perry.  They will call him Hayden  :)  He is scheduled to arrive January 7th unless he decides to come early.  I can't believe that by next weekend, there will be another little baby in the family!!  I can hardly wait to spoil him!!  Please join me in praying for Amy, Chris, and Baby Perry...I mean Hayden  :)  How cute are they?!!!

Big girl!

Image
Addison is such a big girl!  She is sitting up all by herself!  And since she has learned this new trick, that's all she wants to do.  Everywhere we put her, she tries to sit up....in the car seat, in the stroller, in her bouncy chair.  It's funny.  She wanted to sit up when Adam was feeding her tonight too... It is so exciting every time Addison does something new.  However, there is a little part of me that is somewhat sad that she is getting so big so fast.  I love that she is growing and learning, but I know that I will miss her "baby days"!  I try not to think about that too much, though, so I can enjoy them while they're still here :) Mommy and Daddy do love you, big girl!

Christmas at Kay's

Image
After leaving Adam's Dad's, we went to my Aunt Kay's house to celebrate Christmas with my Dad's family.  I was waiting to post this because I was hoping I could gather some pics from other people to add to the blog.  I left my camera in the car.  I know that sounds lazy, but at this point, I was just tired.  I forget how hard it is to get pictures from other people.  And I understand...I have been one of those people to take forever to share my pictures.  I never do that on purpose, life just happens, and before you know it, a week has gone by and then a month, and so on, and so on.  Anyways, I just wanted to be sure to let everyone know that we had a great time at Kay's and it was so good to spend time with everyone!  We certainly missed my Uncle Guy, who we recently lost to cancer, but we know he was looking down on us with pride.  Also, we are thankful for all of the gifts that Addison got.  We are so blessed to be surrounded by family and friends at Christmas ti
