6 Months

Image
Broughton turned 6 months old on December 20. He is such a happy baby!  I don't know how much his weight or length has changed because he isn't scheduled for his 6 month check-up until next Friday.  But I can tell you, he sure has grown!   We started giving him rice cereal right at 5 months.  After about a week, we introduced oatmeal.  Just a few days later, we tried squash.  Since then, we have tried all kinds of things...sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, carrots, acai grape, banana, apple, pear.  He has loved them all!   He reaches for everything that we are eating or drinking too.  His daycare teacher swears that he is ready for table food.  Ha!  We put him in his high chair for the first time just a few days ago, and he was EXCITED!   He has 4-5 bottles/day with 6-7 oz of breastmilk...yes, I am still hangin' in there.  :)  He usually tries to hold his bottle, and he does pretty good.  When he gets to the end of his bottle, though, he d

Disney on Ice

Mindy and I scored some Disney on Ice tickets last weekend off of the Pitt County Yardsale Facebook page.  We were so excited!  Surprisingly, we got there early.  Ha!  Here are the two munchkins just waiting to go into the show. We walked around for a little bit and then took our seats... Addison and Luke were excited...and then the loud noise started.  Luke was still excited....Addison, not so much.  She did the usual and started crying and trembling and saying, "I wanna go home."  I tried to calm her for just a few minutes, but we ended up heading all the way back up the never-ending steps and into the "lobby" area.  I was afraid this would happen, but I guess I was just hoping Mickey could make it all better?  Now, for the good news, we ended up going back into the show.  We hung out in the lobby area for a little bit and then I went to the info desk where they gave me some ear plugs.  Addison has never worn ear plugs so I knew it would take some convin

Sleepover Firsts

Broughton spent his first night away from home about a month ago (a little late posting, I know).  I went with the "Burlington girls" on our annual Myrtle Beach shopping trip and Adam was busy, busy, busy picking beans.  Broughton stayed with Gama and Gapa.  He did great!  He slept through the night and blew lots of raspberries. :) Addison had her first "sleep-over" that same night.  She has stayed the night away with grandparents on numerous occasions.  In fact, she has stayed with Gama and Gapa nearly one night a month since she's been just a few months old.  (Huge thank-you to Gama and Gapa, by the way!!!)  But for the first time, Addison had a sleep-over with someone other than grandparents.  She stayed with Amy, Chris, and Hayden!  She did great as well and I know she had lots of fun!!!  I am so thankful that we have amazing family so close and so willing to help out with the kids! Me, Addison, Broughton, Mindy, Luke, and Landon also had a

Actually, we didn't get a good one of Broughton...This one was taken by Melanie Mansfield, an out of this world photographer nearby... Handsome little Luke... and Landon, looking all grown... Also taken by Melanie...
