All the things I've been wanting to blog about...

Image
Again, I have gotten behind on my blog...so I will cut some things short.  Here are a few things I have been intending on blogging about... Shoes       We have been trying to put shoes on Addison more often so that she will get used to them.  She usually kicks them off pretty quick, though.  What can I say?....she is her mother's child :) And look at these little shoes Sue-Sue and Pa-Pa put in her easter basket...so cute! Molly      That's what I decided to call this bird that currently resides just outside our doorstep at our camper. Look closely and you will see that Molly is standing over 5 little eggs.  She gets pretty angry if you come too close... I will never understand why these birds lay their eggs on the ground...sometimes right in the middle of an open field? I guess there are just some things we aren't meant to understand :) More Playtime with the Boys      Addison does love spending time with her cousins! The Dream Team      Meet my 2nd family..

A Scary Saturday for NC

Image
Last Saturday NC was hit with well over 20 tornados that claimed at least 25 lives.  The following videos were filmed in my hometown, Snow Hill.  The house you see in the first video is just a few doors down from my father-in-law's house.   Thankfully, no one was hurt.  The storms, however, did leave behind some major destruction in many parts of this small town. My heart goes out to all of those who were affected by these storms.  Let us not forget how fragile our lives are.....let go of what does not matter...and hold fast to what does.   These videos were found on youtube and the picture is from Facebook.

Fun Weekend!

We finally had a weekend with no plans... and it was great! Friday I took my time getting Addison ready for daycare. I just love Fridays! We finally strolled into daycare between 9:30 and 10:00--our normal Friday time. When I got there, most of her class was outside, so that's where I took her. I hung out for about 30 minutes talking to Mrs. Missy and playing with the kids. Have I mentioned that I LOVE her daycare?!! I ran a few errands then went to play tennis. Although my legs were really sore from the gym, I had so much fun playing tennis...I always do! Saturday, we were actually planning to go to the Pirate Fest with Mindy and Lukey-Luke, but the weather wasn't nearly as pretty as we thought it was going to be, so we ended up not going. We didn't let the weather stop us from having fun, though! Mindy and Luke came over to our house instead and we all had a great time! Addison and Luke crawled around all over the house and ate bananas all day...like two little monkies :)

Clothes Galore!

OK, so I'm done sorting through all the clothes.  Here they are... A tremendous THANK YOU to Blake Evans-Whaley and her little Savannah who were gracious enough to give all of these clothes to Addison!  And Congratulations to Blake and her husband, Nick, who recently found out they are going to have a baby boy this go round.  I guess they didn't have much use for these girl clothes that Savannah has outgrown, but it still amazes me that they simply gave them all to me without expecting a single thing in return.  Thank God for friends!  I must do something to at least show them my gratitude!  Oh, and I took a picture of my favorite outfit out of all of these boxes... A precious Tommy Hilfiger tennis dress!  I can hardly wait to put Addison in a tennis dress.  As most of you know, I played tennis back in the day.  I have been trying to get back in it recently and it has been SO MUCH FUN!  I will never force Addison to play, but I sure hope and pray that she loves tennis as mu

What a difference a week makes!

It's amazing how much can change in a baby's life in such a short amount of time. I posted last night about Addison's new teeth and her "real" crawl. Today she had "real" food for the first time...bananas (which she liked, by the way). Also in the last few days she has been pulling up on things. Here she is this morning pulling up on some plastic totes... Please excuse the mess surrounding Addison!   It is such an exciting mess, though.  A friend of mine gave me a TON of little girl clothes for Addison.  I have been sorting through them for a couple of days.  Once I'm done, I'll post some pictures of them.  It is unbelievable!

Chiclets!

That's what Adam calls them, anyway!  I'm talking about teeth!  That's right, little Addison's first two teeth have made their grand appearance... Please ignore the dirty bib.  The only time you can see her teeth is when she's eating.  If you try to pull her lip down to see her teeth, she sticks her tongue out....like this... Ha!  Her and that crazy tongue!  So silly :)   Sunday, Addison was not her normal happy self.  She was just a little fussy all morning.  Then we went to church.  When we picked her up from the nursery, she was crying.  We knew something was going on then...she never cries in places like that...she is too nosy to distract herself by crying.  Ha!  Every other time we have picked her up from the nursery in church she has been jumping like a crazy person in the bouncer and smiling up a storm.  She also felt just a tad bit warm.  When we got home, she was still fussy and kept rubbing her bottom lip over her gum.  You still couldn't feel the t
