Father's Day Gift

Image
Yet another late post :)  Since I posted a little something about my first mother's day gift, I wanted to also do a post about Adam's first father's day gift.  I think it will be so fun many years from now to look back on these blogs!  Well, for father's day, I ordered DirecTV satellite for Adam.  Ok, ok, it was for me too, but I promise you Adam was more excited about it than me.  We had satellite TV for one year about 6 years ago and have not had any kind of cable or anything since.  Before our great government came out with this "digital tv" mess, we could get all the local channels, which was really enough for us.  Ofcourse, we thought about getting satellite several times over the years, but always decided that it wasn't worth the money.  Well, unfortunately, the switch to digital that was supposed to make things so much better cut our channels down to about 4.... on a good day.  We have been able to get channel 7, the all day weather channel, UNCTV

Our first "family" photos

Michelle took a few snapshots of me, Adam, and our baby belly a couple of weeks ago at the river.  This was at about 32 weeks... Thanks for the "photo session" Michelle.  Now I have some pictures to put in the baby book.  :)

The nursery is finally complete!

I know this is a little late, but I am going to blame my tardiness on little Miss Addison.  She has just been making me so tired lately.  I have been telling everyone for nearly 2 weeks now that I am going to post pictures of the nursery but by the time I get home from work, I am pooped!  Well, I'm finally getting around to it.  Better late than never, right?  This is a view from the doorway.  The nursery is very small, but oh so sweet! Here's a close-up of my curtain.  Isn't it just darling?  I got so lucky with this crib.  I found it barely used at a yard sale for 1/3 the price of a new one. Here are a couple of close-ups of my crib set that I had made.  I was afraid when I was picking out my fabric that it would be a little too "busy", but I am so tickled with how it turned out! My dresser was also a lucky find.  I found it on craigslist from a furniture company in High Point that has a few random pieces of reclaimed furniture that they sell for very cheap

Burlington Baby Shower

Image
Last Sunday, my aunt Patti and my cousin Lindsey threw me a baby shower in Burlington, where my mom grew up.  It was so good to see my "Burlington family"!  It seems like the older we get, the harder it is to get together.  The shower was at a really nice restaurant called The Cutting Board .  We had a little private room and Patti and Lindsey had it set up so cute in there.  Check out the "candy buffet" table.  I thought this was the neatest idea... For some reason, my favorite was the mixture of white and pink marshmallows :)    Too cute!  Landon and Peyton helping me open the gifts.  I am pretty sure I am telling Landon to "wait a minute" here: Precious little watermelon dress from Mamaw, Patti, and Lindsey.  There is no doubt that Addison will be well-dressed...I will post pics later of her INSANE closet: Cute little socks that look like slippers...  I can't wait to put these on her! Cathy and Linda: Gay holding Luke...  I think he could've

Love our babies!

There has been a lot of talk and excitement lately about our baby bump, Addison, and for good reason.  I mean, she truly is a blessing from above!  This post, however, is dedicated to my sweet babies, Griffon and Sadie.  Anyone who knows me knows that I am an animal lover, especially DOGS!  But our dogs are not dogs, I swear they are our children.  I just wanted to share a few photos of our boxer, Griffon, and our beagle, Sadie.  I cannot express in words what these dogs mean to me and to Adam.  I am so thankful to God for bringing them into our lives.  Not a day goes by without them bringing a smile to my face! Here are a couple pics of Griffon just a couple of weeks ago.  We got Griffon when he was 17 weeks old.  He is now 8 years old.    And now, Sadie.  We got her when she was about 6 weeks old.  She was so tiny!  She is now 6 years old. These pictures are from a few years ago when we took them to the beach... They liked the beach, but their favorite thing to do is just run fre
