Addison is 5 months old today!

To celebrate the beautiful snow we have been getting here all day, I dressed Addison in her "Snow Adorable" shirt for her 5 month picture...

Wow, 5 months old!  One, two, three, and four months sound so little.  But 5 months is close to 6 months and 6 months doesn't sound so little anymore.  Tears.  Where does the time go?  Addison is such a good little baby!  We are so thankful to our Dear Lord for blessing us with our sweet baby girl.  These past 5 months have been a whirl wind, but we will forever cherish every moment!  About Addison lately....
she had baby squash for the first time yesterday and LOVED it!  We started giving her rice cereal at 4 months.  It was so funny.  She wouldn't open her mouth the first day.  Then, the second day, she wouldn't close her mouth.  It took her 4-5 days before she actually was swallowing it good.  Once she figured that out, there was no turning back!  Once the first box of rice cereal was emptied, we gave her oatmeal cereal.  She loves that too!  But squash, oh my.  I hope she eats all of her veggies that well!  Here are a couple of  messy pics of her eating her oatmeal...

We give her oatmeal before her morning bottle and before her night time bottle.  The veggies we are trying to give her twice a day as well, but are still trying to figure out the best time to get these in.  We will try other veggies over the next week or 2 and maybe some fruit in a couple of weeks.  She still drinks 6 ounces of breastmilk in every bottle, usually 4-5 bottles per day.
She is still in a size 2 diaper, but we are almost out of those and we got lots of size 3 diapers for Christmas, (thanks Michelle and Kay) so she will be in size 3 diapers soon.  She still wears some 3-6 months and some 6 months clothes, depending on the name brand and type of outfit it is.  Her feet are so tiny!  She wears a size 0-1 shoe, but has still only worn shoes like 3 times.  I am ready for her feet to grow some because she has so many darling little shoes in her closet  :)
Addison wants to crawl sooooo bad!  Here is a video from a couple of weeks ago of her trying to scoot....

She is definitely a daddy's girl.  She loves to stare at her daddy!

That's OK with me, because I know she loves her mommy too!

She loves for you to sing "head, shoulders, knees, and toes".  She has loved that song since she was itty bitty.  Whenever she is crying on the changing table, I sing that song to her and it usually makes her stop crying.  She loves to talk with her paci in her mouth.  I think she likes to hear herself.  She likes to see herself too....she just smiles in front of a mirror!  I think she may be getting some teeth in before long.  I don't feel any in her mouth, but she has been going to town chewing on everything!  She loves to grab and scratch things.  This has been true since day one.  It is especially noticeable when she is angry.  If she is crying, she has to be grabbing or scratching something.  Unfortunately, the easiest thing for her to get a hold of is her head.  Mommy has to cut her fingernails like every other day!  It is sweet though when you are holding her and she is really sleepy...she will scratch your back or shoulder.  She is so close to being able to sit up on her own.  She will stay by herself for a few seconds before falling over.  We practice every day :)  She is pretty much interested in anything you put in her face, whether it's a toy or the remote (she loves the tv remote) or a cell phone.  She also loves to watch Griffon and Sadie, as always.  It would not surprise me if her first word is "doggie", although we practice "mommy"  ALL the time!  :)  She is back to sleeping through the night, praise God!    Except ofcourse the nights that her cough kept waking her up.  She started sleeping on her stomach 3 or 4 weeks ago and she just seems to sleep so much better like that!  She always ends up in the corner of the crib...

She is still fighting her little cold and will go back to the Dr next Friday for another follow-up appointment and possible shots.  Also, Addison had some blood drawn last week (lucky for me, Adam took her to that appt) to be tested for allergies.  Hopefully we will get those results at the next Dr appt as well.  Will keep you all posted :)
