Independence Day, 2012

We spent the evening of July 4th on the Washington waterfront.  Amy, Chris, and Hayden joined in the fun...

Addison and Hayden enjoyed looking at the water and all the boats...

Broughton, on the other hand, could've cared less about the boats.  He just wanted to sleep and eat...

The fireworks started around 9:30.  Before that, we had fun just walking around and letting the kids play...

Once the fireworks started, though, it wasn't much fun.  Well, at least it wasn't for us.  Hayden really enjoyed the fireworks.  Addison, to put it lightly, was less than thrilled.  We honestly didn't think she would like the fireworks because she doesn't like ANYTHING loud.  She hates when motorcycles ride by.  She even hates when we use the blender because she knows it's going to be loud.  So, we weren't surprised when she started crying as soon as the fireworks began.  Next time we'll try looking at the fireworks from much further away.  Maybe then it won't scare her so much.  Or better yet, maybe she will have outgrown that fear by next year!

I hope that you all enjoyed your July 4th this year!
