Poor Baby!

Well, last Friday, I took Addison to the night clinic to have her neck checked out. She had a horrible rash under her neck that just looked awful! The doctor sent us home with some cream for yeast. Poor baby had a yeast infection under her neck. They said it is from moisture. Because she spits up right much and pretty much has nothing but rolls for a neck, it is really hard to keep it dry. We (us and daycare) are being extra careful now to keep it as dry as possible. Unfortunately, though, after a week, her rash had not gotten much better and had actually spread a little. I made an appointment for Friday morning at our regular doctor, Our Children's Clinic. The dr gave us a prescription for Diflucan and a long list of over the counter things for us to get. This is pretty much for future reference for myself........The Diflucan is an oral liquid rx for the yeast infection under her neck. I am also supposed to put lotrimin, an antifungal ointment, under her neck every day. Once it clears up, we are to put caldescene powder on her neck daily as a preventative. Addison also still has cradle cap. Directions for this: rub her head with baby oil 20 minutes before bath time. Use the little plastic prickly thingie to rub the scaley skin off of her head. Also put Selsun Blue shampoo on her head for two minutes twice a week. For her super dry skin and eczema...use cetaphil body wash at bath time and theraflex lotion 1-2 times/day. The dr said she should have beautiful, soft skin within 2 weeks if we do all of these things. If not, she will be tested for milk allergy. We are praying that all these things will clear up and that she does not have a milk allergy! I have a deep freezer nearly full of breastmilk and am counting on her to drink it up over the next several months. After all, they say mommy's milk is best!! Here is a picture of Addison from today...

I had to dress her all snug because we went yard-saling bright and early this morning. Well, I went yardsaling and she took a nap in the car :)  We found a few cute little outfits for baby Perry.  We are so ready to meet him!  And hopefully all that we are learning will be beneficial to him and his mommy and daddy.  Which reminds me, the dr said to use only the really soft bibs that are made of cotton.  The ones with plastic on the back of them can make them sweat, causing moisture to be against their skin resulting in irritation and possibly a yeast infection.  I'll have to remember that one for baby Perry too!
