Dance Rehearsal and Recital

Addison had her first dance recital on May 31st.  They were beyond cute up there on stage in their precious costumes!  Here are some pictures from the rehearsal and recital...

We got ready for rehearsal at Melissa's house.  Melissa did the make-up...

 At rehearsal, the girls had a pretty long wait, so some mamas got together and supplied them with entertainment: coloring books and crayons!...

So many came to watch her performance!  Mommy, Daddy, Brother, Gama, Gapa, Amy, Hayden, Mindy, Michelle, PaPa, Sue-Sue, Boompa, Aunt Sue-Sue, Aunt Kim, Milton, Bim, and Dr. Abdul.  Unfortunately, we couldn't get pictures with everybody, but we did get a few...

Broughton did good throughout the recital, but it was past his nap time, so this is the only face we could get...


After her recital was over, we went for a quick bite to eat then me and Addison headed back to the auditorium to watch Recital #3.  I was anxious to see some big girl dances.  Addison was ready too, but she only lasted about an hour.  She was just exhausted from the big day, so we ducked out early.  She did pose for a few pics though before heading to the car :)

She says she wants a break from dance for now, but wants to do it again "later."  We're taking a summer break and we'll see what the princess decides in a couple of months, lol.

Addison's first babysitters

This past Saturday night, Adam and I headed out for the first time without our little "butter bean".  Everyone keeps asking me if I cried, but I knew she was safe with Grandma Jane-Jane and Grandpa Gerald, so there were no need for tears.  Plus, they were babysitting at our house and I knew I'd see her in just a few hours, so it wasn't so bad.  We went to Adam's 10 year class reunion and had so much fun!  There was a great crowd there, at the City Hotel and Bistro.  It was so good to see everyone!  I graduated just one year ahead of Adam, so I knew a lot of people at the reunion too, even though it was for the c/o 2000.  Here are a couple of snapshots...I am hoping to get more pictures from Lorie's camera to add to my blog, but this is all I have for now... Look Who's One!

July 26, 2011...Addison's FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!  I don't even know what to say.  There are so many things I have thought about writing for this blog, but right now all I can think to say is THANK YOU JESUS for choosing Adam and myself to watch over your precious baby Addison Leigh!  And THANK YOU JESUS for the blessing that she continues to be each and every day to so many people! I just can't believe it has been a whole year since we were at the hospital welcoming our new baby to the world.  And now here she is standing all by herself... She's still not walking on her own, but has been doing the bear walk a lot lately... She wears 12-18 month clothes, size 3-4 diapers, and size 3 shoes.  She started drinking big girl milk (soy milk) a couple of days ago, so no more formula!  She is still a GREAT eater!  And she still will let the whole world know if her belly is hungry!  She still LOVES to dance more than anything in the world!  She added a new word to her "vocabu
