Big Day for a Big Girl

Addison had her first dentist appointment today!  Our appointment was at 6:45 in the morning, and she normally sleeps until around 7:30.  Surprisingly, she was happy when I woke her up.  She enjoyed the waiting room that had Addison-sized  furniture, Alice and Wonderland on the TV, and some really cool lights on the ceiling.  She did pretty good in the operatory.  She was very interested in everything.  She wasn't so happy about being laid back in the dental chair though and having her teeth cleaned.  It wasn't so bad though because it was so fast.  And as soon as we let her back up, she was happy again...especially when she got her own toothbrush AND balloon!

We left at about 7:30 and Addison was fast asleep by about 7:31..ha!  She slept for about an hour and half and then we headed to the park.  Little did she know, she was scheduled for her one year check-up and shots at 10:30, and mommy felt that she just HAD to do something fun in between the dentist visit and the doctor visit!  So we played as hard as we could for about an hour at the park.

Then it was time for her Dr visit.  She had so much fun entertaining everyone in the waiting room.  She definitely didn't get that from her mama!  I would have been hiding behind my mama for sure!  Addison isn't always the entertainer, but she has her moments :) Sometimes she is shy, but she was grinning and dancing for everybody today.  Maybe she was still wound up from the park?  She weighs 21.5 pounds (50th % ) and is 30 inches long (80th %) .  She got one shot in each leg, one in her left arm, and a finger prick.  She didn't mind the finger prick at all.  She just watched as the nurse filled two tubes of blood from her finger.  She was NOT happy about the band-aid that the nurse wrapped around her finger, though.  She got so mad trying to get if off.  Then came the shots... and the tears.  Again, it was really fast, so not too bad.  As soon as it was over, she got her band-aid off her finger and was as happy as can be.  That girl is a mess!

Oh, and she started saying Uh-oh today every time she dropped something....so you can probably guess what that means...she dropped a lot of things today, which made our grocery shopping trip a challenge to say the least!  Also, she has started giving mommy and daddy kisses....big, wet, slobbery kisses.  So sweet!

  1. Casey, she is too cute! It's hard to believe she is a year old and already going to see the dentist. I can see from her sticker that she went to Dr. Lewis's office. That is where I went until I was so old, they kicked me out!!
