Our Trip to the mountains in Blowing Rock

Somehow I managed to plan a surprise trip to the mountains for the last week in September.  It was supposed to be for our anniversary...I had arranged for babysitters, packed their bags and everything. BUT we kinda wanted to take the kids....apparently they kinda wanted to go too because they both woke up with horrible fevers, forcing us to take them to the doctor.  One had strep throat and the other had an ear infection.  We definitely didn't want to leave them then, so along they came for the ride.  Thankfully, with antibiotics, tylenol, and albuterol, they got better pretty quick.

They had fun playing in a mountain stream behind the Mast General Store...

...and eating candy from the candy shop...

3 sleepy heads...

We took our first trip...well not Adam's first trip, but our first family trip to Tweetsie Railroad.  It was such a FUN day!!!

Riding on the train...

Riding the little train....which they liked better than the big train...

 Riding the airplanes...

Getting her face painted...

panning for gold...

Riding the boats...

and our favorite part...petting and feeding the goats...

 Stopping to enjoy the view...

One of my favorite pictures...

Riding the hobby horses...

...and more planes...

a pit stop by the candy store AGAIN...

and finally, a stop by the "horses"...

Adam and the kids went swimming while I went shopping!

playing on the swing set at Chetola...

Hanging out for a while in the room...

I don't remember what this pouty face was for...ha

More pics at the Mast General Store....I LOVE stopping by here...

Sleeping good after all that excitement...

On our way out, we stopped by the park in the town of Blowing Rock...

 cutie patooties...

It wasn't long before they both looked like this...

We had such a great time on our little trip!  I'm so glad we took the kiddos, but I am very much looking forward to some time away....just the two of us.  :)
