Fall Fun

I have come to love the fall!  Festivals, pumpkins, leaves, fairs, hot chocolate, seasonal yankee candles, our beautiful red japanese maple, hoodies, Christmas shopping, fireplaces, football, hayrides, and the list goes on.  As a family, we have been enjoying the fall season this year!  We went to the Pitt County Fair a few weeks ago where Addison rode the hobby horses, real ponies, and spinning dragons.  She also had fun looking at the animals...

Broughton did the usual, he slept and never knew we were even there.

We also recently went to a fall festival that is put on annually by a local church.  Addison and I went to this festival last year and had a great time.  This year, Adam and Broughton joined in the fun!  Surprisingly, shortly after we got there, Addison said she wanted to get her face painted.  We had seen several painted faces and actually watched a few of the people as they were painting, but it did not even cross my mind to ask her if she wanted her face painted because I wouldn't have guessed in a million years that she would.  But she sat there as still as a statue, never smiling until after she was all done.  She said she wanted a "kitty cat"...

I think it turned out really cute!

We also rode a train, went on a hayride, ate some yummy free food, and played a few games.  Last year, they had an area where you could dig for shark's teeth.  They had this again this year, and again, Addison loved it.  If it involves dirt, she is on it!  Here she is proudly showing off her shark's tooth...

She also LOVED painting her little pumpkin...

Broughton actually didn't sleep through this entire event...

You can best believe he stopped for a bottle though...

We had so much fun at the festival!  We met all the "Kearney cousins" there, but I don't have pics of everyone.  We all had a great time and can't wait for next year's fall festival!
