Connor's 3rd birthday, Tubes, and the Fair
Connor turned 3 on March 4th! We celebrated at his house with presents, cake, family, and fun...
Addison was so tired after playing so hard at the party. She fell asleep on the way home, right in the middle of drinking her milk...too funny...
It's hard to believe Connor is already 3! Happy Birthday, Connor!!!
Tubes...
Addison got her tubes put in (both ears) last Friday morning. When the doctor told us that she should be a lot more talkative after her tubes, I thought to myself, "she talks right much now." Well, let me just tell you, her lips did not stop moving for 24 hours straight, except to sleep. The surgery went great and my sweet baby girl did not even cry. When she woke up, she was very drowsy and snuggly, but thankfully she wasn't angry. She was more concerned about all the crying babies around her. She wanted to know what was wrong with everybody. I kept having to tell her, "those babies have a boo-boo, but they are getting all better." I didn't realize that her hearing wasn't 100% until after the tubes were placed. She just notices more noises and small things now and is saying her words more clearly. We definitely have to be careful what we say because she picks up on everything. The afternoon of her surgery, our dogs got into a pizza box and tore it to shreds all over the yard. When Adam saw it, he mumbled under his breath, "stupid dogs". Addison was across the room and never would have heard it before, but sure enough, she immediately said just as plain as day, "stupid dogs." Whoops! Lesson learned :) She had her one week follow-up this past Thursday and everything is looking great. Her double ear infections that she still had the day of the surgery are now all clear. Thank-you, sweet Jesus!
Fair...
And on a more fun note, Adam and I took Addison to a very small local fair last week.
She has only been on one ride before but that was a long time ago with me, so we didn't know what she would think about the rides. When we first got there, we just looked at everything and asked her if she wanted to ride it and she would give us a quick and simple, "no." So we played a couple of games...
After she won her a little bear, we decided to buy enough tickets just to ride the hobby horses...that way we could ride with her...just to see how she did. She wouldn't let me put her on the horse so we sat in the bench and went around and around. She decided that she liked it and wanted "more". So we rode again, still just sitting on the bench (while poor Daddy looked for my keys that I lost...that we finally found, by the way). When we got off the hobby horses, Daddy took her down the big slide and that just got her all hyper.
All my camera phone could catch was a blurr as they were coming down the slide...
She was ready to go after that. She rode the cars and the boats several times, but her all-time favorite was the boat. She has been saying boat ever since! Alot!
On Friday, we decided to go back to the fair for some more fun. This time, me and Addison met Mindy, Luke, Landon, Bobby, Lorie, and Karly there. Again, she had a blast riding the rides. This time, she was ready to get on the horse...
And again, we rode the cars and the boats, although I think she would have been happy just to ride the boats 1,000 times...
I didn't get a picture of Karly and Landon because they were riding "bigger" rides, but I did steal this cute picture of Karly from Lorie's facebook page. This is a picture of her posing with the dog she won at the fair...
We had so much fun at the fair! I am going to try to have as much fun as we can with Addison as often as we can because I know when baby Beaman #2 gets here, it will be harder to "play" as much...for a short while anyways. By the way, only about 3 1/2 months to go until he should be making his grand entrance into the world! Boy, we sure are blessed!!!
I am so glad that Addison getting tubes went so well. Hope you all are doing great!!!
